'The Next Big Thing', BBC2

In February 2010, Wendy and I travelled to London to attend Liberty's Open Call event, where new designers have the chance to pitch to their team of buyers. Our pitch was filmed for a new BBC2 series called 'The Next Big Thing' which started last night. Unfortunately our scarves weren't selected for the store, but it was a great experience, albeit a majorly stressful one: it felt like the most important job interview of my life, and to have it recorded for TV made it all the more intense! It was funny watching us pitch, and it reminded me of just how much I love textiles and designing : )

    We went along this year, and I agree with you on the stress-level... most important 3 minutes EVER ;)

    ... thankfully (or a shame, I suppose!) there were no film crews there this year, so that took the edge off... though it would have been fab to get the exposure of being on TV!

    Hope you will try again next year... x
